This is a beautiful family kitchen, in the opened up basement of this early Victorian house, out of sight of the street yet opens onto the garden. The island unit with a butler sink area in the middle of the room makes a good social hub. Supplied with oak worktops each side of the cooker and a huge granite worktop over the island. Painted traditional frames and panelled doors, oak interiors and solid oak drawers. We made a cross type motif on the door panels inspired by Huguenot panelled shutters outside some of the original houses found in Spitalfields.
